The core members of the CMDB.info team are from eastern Australia. They have had extensive experience in enterprise and SME (Small to Medium Enterprise) computing environments both at technical and management levels. One valuable lesson they bring to this forum is that "All organisations suffer similar problems". They have given up considerable time to document a solution with a minimal cost approach which enables companies of all sizes to benefit from an awesome opensource toolset. They believe that implementing the practice of Configuration Management should'nt be limited by the vendor hype and the puristic view of having all ITIL processes covered before you start reaping the benefits. All the required functionality of a CMDB exisits in the opensource environment and most within the proposed toolset, whatever else needs to be added can be integrated to this framework.
